This documentary was undertaken soon after James Dean's death at age 24 in 1955. It looks at Dean's life through the use of still photographs with narration and interviews with many of the people involved in his very short life. Interviewees include the aunt and uncle who raised him after his mother's death when he was 9, his paternal grandparents and also with other people in his life, including the owner of his favorite restaurant.
