Description
Matatoshi Nakayama Sensei, one of the main disciples of the founder Gichin Funakoshi, and chief instructor of the JKA was one of the most prominent figures in the history and evolution of modern Karate. A month before his death, he welcomed Salvador Herraiz to his home in Tokyo. He gave him the last interview of his life. Master Nakayama reviewed the key moments in his life, the history of Karate, the JKA, and also spoke of his philosophy and the dangers which lurk in Karate while performing the wrong competitive moves. Nakayama was undoubtedly the father of JKA until his death, and after his passing, the organization was divided into two branches. The union disappeared with his passing.
