One of John Wayne’s earliest movies for Lone Star. He plays a government agent dispatched to investigate a crooked businessman’s exploitation of water rights in a small western town. Before he even reaches the town, he bumps into the town’s sheriff wandering the desert with a bullet in his back. Later he runs into a woman (Cecillia Parker), who has just held up a stage coach.
