Kanken Toyana was born in Okinawa, Japan in 1888, He started his martial arts training at age nine under Anko Itosu. In this book he explores the morality of Karate-Do, secret techniques and performs an entire kata, finishing up with a meeting of the Masters to discuss Karate in 1936.
